warning oil lines
Well it was a bad year for the 1995 s10 zr2 . I just couldnt get my self to sell it. I would like to warn you about seaping oil lines in your s10's. CHange them, Change them,,,,,,, the clamps they used suck and pay for the change you will save you engine . I was driving down the road when i happened to look behind me to see smoke. I thought how odd same time oil like came on so i shut off the engine and walla saved the engine . Turns out my oil lines exploded off the truck and drained all my oil in secounds . My shop had never seen anything like it oil all over the place . so change themmmmmmmmm

I have a 94 S-10 and recently changed my oil lines. For a long time they leaked, at first very slowly then finally a 5+ drops a day. They leaked from where the rubber met the alum lines. It was a bit of a headache, but for the $110 it cost me to change myself, it was well worth it. I've heard this to be a common problem.

Re: warning oil lines
Common is right. I have a 94 S-10 4 dr.(198,000 miles) and I'm on my 3rd set. (Poor design for different climates----northern states) I read some place that GM now warranties those lines for 1 year due to all the replacement jobs that had been going on.

'95 ZR2. Happened to me a couple of years ago. Just lucky enough to be glancy down at the gauges, as the oil pressure gauge went to zero.
Immediately shut the engine off and wheeled over to the shoulder. Had to have it towed, but did get the hoses replaced with no damage. |
