Service Engine Codes

I have a 04 Blazer Extreme and the Service Engine Code light came on. Is there a way to get the vehicle to display the fault code? I mean, I remember my old dodge if you would turn the key on and off four times it would flash out the code on the service engine light.
Also, are the fault codes for an 04 Blazer listed somewhere on the web?

Thanks in advance.

Re: Service Engine Codes

You will need an OBD II code reader to get the codes out. It will plug into the 16 pin connecter under the dash on the drivers side.

Try www.scantool.net for some cheaper alternatives. I just bought on for my 97 and spent $200 CDN on it. However it works awsome and will do anything 95 and above. any make.

Here is the one I bought
http://www.troublecodes.net/articles...e_reader.shtml

at least this will give you an idea what you are in for

Re: Service Engine Codes

HI there

Yes it does also clear the codes.
It also saves them after you disconnect it so you can look up the codes on the web. It will refhesh the data next time you connect in to the vehicle.
