removing door panel
I'm trying to remove the door panel on my sister-in-law's G20. How do I get the panel off? I found three screws along the bottom of the door (without caps), three screws with caps (two near the hinge and one along the edge), and figured out how to pop off the cover around the lock and release lever. This isn't enough. It seems like there should be something to remove around the area where the handle and window controller are, but I can't find it. Can anyone tell me what I'm missing?

Anyway, remove the cover for the window switch, then pull the switch out (it's still plugged in) .. there's a screw inside the well. Then work your fingers between the window and door and jimmy the panel up then out .. it should basically pop out. |

Re: removing door panel
It took me a while to figure that one out myself. If you take a flat head screwdriver and pop out the power windor switch there is a screw right behind it.
If you figure out anything from there return the favor and let me know. That is where I am stuck...Thanks

It used to be free but now the link charges $4.99 for the access to instructions & pictures.

I got stumped on this last night and was gratified to find this forum today. Quick question: the first poster mentions figuring out how to release the door lock and latching mechanism as part of removing the door panel--is there some trick to disengaging this? I didn't get that far because I couldn't find the mystery screw that's under the window switch, but now that I know where it is, I'm ready to try again but want to be sure I don't do anything to damage the lock/latching mechanism. As I am not a regular reader of this forum, would appreciate any replies to my regular email: [email protected]
Thanks! --Leigh Cagan [email protected] |

Re: removing door panel
just pull the door release as if you're opening the door, then use a wide flat screwdriver and prise the trim behind it out....
Once it's unclipped, it'll come off over the door release handle... |
