Question Engine Ques.

Hey,
My old motor in my 1993 Del Sol (D15B7) klunked out and I had to get a new one. Because im selling the car soon i went out and found a place and ordered the same engine. However after i got the car back i looked at the engine and it looked a little different. I turned out to be a ZC engine. What is the difference (if any) between the D15B7 and the ZC. any horsepower gains from the shops mistake? better engine? worse? I looked online and saw that most ZC's are DOHC however mine is only a SOHC. It seems to pull a little harder than my last engine, thats why im asking for the differences. thank you

Re: Engine Ques.

Nope, not really..the SOHC ZC is just as weak as the D15 ! so it really isnt gonna matter, if you already have it installed and you seem to think it pulls better then just roll with it man

That's two in a row, stop posting if you don't know what the hell you're talking about.

The SOHC ZC comes in quite a few forms, some fuel injected, some carburated, some vtec, some not. The most popular ones are the DOHCs, but there are a couple variants that produce decent power in the 105-112ps range.

Fool, I know exactly what he said, and they have several SOHC variants that I posted about. I said the most popular are the DOHC's, and no you don't post when you know what your talking about, so take you BS misinformation else where.

It doesn't matter what you THINK, it matters what is, and what isn't. And no one said they put a fuckin carbed motor in his car, I said there ARE more powerful versions of the fucking SOHC ZC then the one that is the equivolent to his motor.

So just shut the hell up and go learn something.

And do you know what fucking motor is in there now? NO YOU DON'T SO SHUT THE FUCK UP!!!

What the hell are you talking about excess information? There's no such thing. Sorry if your simple mind can't comprehend there being more than one kind of ZC motor, but it's the truth, so unless you know what car is came from, along with other information about it, you don't have a clue what it is, or how weak/strong it is.

The guy already said it pulled harder than his, so you're blindly saying bullshit about it being just as weak.

And seeing some of the crap that people say on this site feels like it is a day care.

Re: Engine Ques.

im not debating this anymore...the zc is already in the vehicle, the power diff on the sohc is not that much so my advice was to let it be...so im sticking with my answer of just leave it be

Re: Engine Ques.

will you both shut the fuck up. it was an easy question. all i was curious about was the power difference and maybe the actual horsepower i now have. thats it i didn't need all the bullshit you two started posting.

Im not sure what car the engine came from. I got it from a honda import engine shop. it only has 30-40k miles on it. thats about all i know about it. is there an estimate to how much horses it has? cause i've seen some sites that say it has 108 while others say it has around 120. so im not sure.

Re: Engine Ques.

The reason why you see conflicting specs is, as I said eariler, there are a few different variants of it.

So, we know it's a SOHC, is it a vtec or non? I know you said your car wasn't, but they could have still done it very easily.
