Is CRX a sports car?

I do not want to sound stupid or annoy anyone but is it true? Or is it just for the si model? Does that go with si civic model too? I'm asking because there's an si crx down the road for sale and if the insurance company puts it as a sports car then I can't get it. I'm only 17 here.

personally I don't consider it a sports car, more a compact car with sports car like attriutes (atleast in stock form). but I am sure your insurance company will nail you and consider it a sports car..... best thing to do is give them a call, get a quote...

I think its a sports car. Or atleast, I try to make it look that way. But a good stock crx, looks like a little compact, still f*cking sweet!! :-D

It's going to fall into one of four categories:

2 door sedan
2 door coupe
2 door sport sedan
2 door sport coupe

I believe that the insurance rates will be increasing in the order I listed, though the only ones I'm positive about are the first and last ones.

I realy pitty them if they do consider it a sports car. Oh yeah, I'v learned that sub models (DX LS SI... ect) have no effect on what catagory the insurance company puts it in. If your getting liability only then it generaly doesnt matter it will still be close to the same price.

Well, when I was 17 and had my CRX, the insurance rate was pretty much the same as when I had my Delorean, it wasn't terribly bad, like around $200 a month for full coverage. Still way way better than what I've been quoted for insurance on my S14, $500 a month.

nah bro, it's called Civic Renissance Model-X . They would only consider it a sports car probably because it's a 2dr.

Lets not get on what CRX stands for...there was a thread on this a month or two ago and there were like 20 different things people tried to say it was, lol.
