si distributor on dx mpfi swap

I am doing the mpfi swap in my dx, all i need to get is the ecu. I was told you dont need to change the distributor in the swap, is this true? Mainly i dont want to replace the distributor cause i bought a bran new coil and cap.

Yes you do need to replace it. MPFI needs a mpfi distributor so it sends a spark for 4 injectors. The dx one wont work no even have enough wires on the connector

the cap and coil should work on the 1.6liter distributor(OEM# TD-02U)

I know the coil will work, not to sure about the cap, but it prolly will
