2000 Jetta question
My girlfriend has a 00 jetta manual, I think its a 2.0.. She wants to take it in for the 40k service recomended by the dealership/factory. Its about $400.00. And when she called another dealership they offered to do it for $350.00. My question is it worth the service. It involves changing the serpentine belt, shocks, stuff in the engine..Should she just wait for something to go wrong, or have the service done.
What problems should we expect with her car? Its ok, except sometimes you have to push the lock button on the clicker a few times to get the driver door lock latch to lock.

Re: 2000 Jetta question
Of course it would be better to change all the wear items (such as belts, tires, wiper blades, etc) before they wear out completely.

If they are willing to replace the shocks for $350 its a deal! When my vr6 went in for its checkup they didn't mention anything about swapping out the shocks.
