Angry SL-1 Remote control

Hello!

Both the remote controls for our SL-1 have been giving me problems for some time now.

With both I have difficulty getting the remote to energize the door locks. Cleaning the circuit board helps for a couple weeks, then the problem returns.

I got a new pad from Saturn (a freebie) for one remote and it helped at first then after a couple of months the problem returned.

With one of the remotes the trunk release does not work. Cleaning the circuit board does not fix this problem. I see no cracks in the printed circuit board.

I have tried cleaning the board with both a pencil eraser (lightly) and electronic cleaning spray.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

TIA

check the batterys. if you put voltmeter leads on the battery, one lead on each side, you should get about 3 volts, if its lower than that replace them and try it out. if you dont have a voltmeter, the batterys are pretty cheap, you could just replace them. other than that, you said you cleaned the circuit boards, but did you clean the backside of the buttons, there is a little black circle. it is carbon, that is what actually completes the circuit to cause the RKE to work. if that doesnt work then you just might have to buy a new remote...............
