Mica Red over Gold?

Ive been wondering if Tamiaya Mica Red over a gold base would make a difference, or should i just use normal primer, and not waste paint?

Re: Mica Red over Gold?

that would make a nice candy color, but you still need to use primer. the silver would be your base color.

But you did use primer, right. That color blue came out great. I just wouldn't recomment using the silver color as a primer.

Click on my SAS Nismo R34 below in my sig. I painted that with Tamiya primer, Silver Leaf, Mica Blue and Clear.

This is what Mike_united's Skyline looks like, I think he put on Mica red on gold? Maybe Mike can fill me in on this one?
Anyway, I think it's a smashing hue on that color and the car looks fabulous

Re: Mica Red over Gold?

Wide, If you use tamiya Candy Lime Green, it almost changes to a candy gold in some lighting.

But i would love to try to do a base coat of gold and see what the result would look like.
