Blogs from Iraq

This site is written by Iraq's citizens, it is the Iraq people's opinions. Interesting reading. I am not agreeing with or disagreeing with the statements but I thought this was worthwhile to read what the Iraq people thought. Granted I know its not all the people's opinion's

Re: Blogs from Iraq

I haven't gone through the site enough to form a valid opinion for posting (I'm at work), but I will say this, to temper the reading:

If these Iraqis are affluent enough to own a computer, much less afford an internet connection, I am not sure if I'd count their opinions as being of the "average" Iraqi's.

Re: Blogs from Iraq

I agree with you Carrnuttt but I also thought it was worthwhile to read it.

Opinions are like assholes everyone has one, which means to me everyone has a right to speak and be heard. I understand most people in Iraq don't own computers, I don't even know if these people are really in Iraq but I thought it was a decent thing to read. Like I said I don't agree with or disagree with the statements made but some one wrote them and feels that way.

Just read it and let me know what you think.

Are these translated or did the Iraqi's who wrote those have better English skills then most of us?

Are you implying that no one in Iraq can speak and write english?

Instead of doing the usual of tearing apart everything try to find something that may or can be true!

Re: Blogs from Iraq

I read blogs purporting to be from Iraq from time to time. I very much want to believe they are genuine but the accuracy of the English used is so impressive as to raise doubts.

Then again, Iraq has it's highly educated and intelligent people like any other country.

Regardless of whther the blogs are genuine, there's no denying they raise many very relevant and important points to consider.

Here's a couple:

You forgot who you are talking to! I've been a supporter of going into Iraq and completing the job. I asked because many of those were very well written and would think that most Iraqi's would write in their native language first. My skill with French isn't as well, but its not the language I go to first when writing something. So I didn't imply that nobody in Iraq could write it. All I asked was if it was written by them or translated - its a simple fucking question that finds fault with nothing.

Re: Blogs from Iraq

That page does raise questions as to their authenticity. I have no idea how credible they are but it's still another point of view to take into account.
I just wonder how someone who says they're from Iraq can type in English better than most Americans, and yet he spells Shiite wrong. That's a native culture to the area where he lives.
How can that not raise a few eyebrows?
