4 lug hubcaps on a 5 lug wheels

hello everyone, maybe somebody can help here, my buddy currently has a 2002 l300 and wanted to install a set of the older sl series hubcaps on the car, only problem is that the 02 L300 has 5 lug wheels and the sl hubcaps he wants have the 4 lug features, is there anyway possible that there is some kind of kit or aftermarket piece that allows this to be possible? I know this is goofy and I told him that there are other alternatives, but its his way or the highway,,, can anybody help?? or at least lead me in the right direction????

it depends on how the hubcap grabs the rim, if it uses the lugs, forget it. if the hubcap uses a large ring around the outside diameter, it may work. only way to know is to try.
