Well, the new eclipses are kind of slow, the gt is pretty quick though since it has the 6 under the hood. But watch out for the late 80's to later 90's elcipses and talons. Quite a few were turbocharged and they are pretty quick. I believe they ran in the low 15's in the quarter mile. But needless to say it sounds like a pretty good kill to me.

i got scared by a new gt, the thing kept up with me?!? i thought they were supposed to be slow! was prob 2 ft behind me the whole time, only time i put distance on it was takeoff, and well i put distance on everything on takeoff. it even gained on me for a moment thought it was gonna beat me, but then it stopped doin that when he shifted. the older one arent that quick except for the turbos, and the all wheel drive gsx are even faster. 2 beat me, by bout 1 car length both times.

1995-1997 Eclipse GST's are definately NOT slow! Turbocharged and they run a 14.8 second quarter. And really watch out for the GSX turbocharged and all-wheel drive. 14.5 second quarters. And that's stock. Persuade him to pick up one of those and upgrade the tires and turbo...Can you say 13.5 second passes??

My bro and I test drove a 97 Gs-t. It was in mint condition with leather and everything. He lost traction while just giving it a little gas while cruising in second. Those things are no joke. I almost bought a 92 turbo talon, it had 450hp. He had a lot of money into it. The only thing is he raced it a lot and it needed a bit of engine work, so I was sure he probably ran it pretty hard all the time. I will just stick with the civic.
Another reason is I didn't really want someone elses project.

Try and persuade him to get either the newer gs-t or an older talon or eclipse turbo.

p.s. what is the older turbo called. Isn't it also a gs-t?

The other weekend we were hanging out at some street races and this old STD raced an older escort (not sure of model). The escort beat him. It was funny as crap.

A month or so ago me and some friends were at a local streetracing strip with the usual compliment of cars, some lude's, civics, a 3000GT Vr-4, a couple others. Anyways, some guy happened to hear us racing and cruised up in his 95 Gs-T. His only mod was a boost controller and exhaust. He cranked it up to 12 lbs, which is, more than a stock Gs-T can take in my opinion, and then proceeded to pretty much lay waste to the competition. haha, I'm guessing he was running mid-13's, so nothing too extraordinary, but also not slow by any means. I didn't have my car there(lucky for him!), but it was still a good show of what the Eclipse Gs-T is capable of. I stand impressed by that vehicle.

Yeap, sure did! lol, I think that was like the second time we ever went there, before you and your people started coming. Missed it by about 2 weeks, hehe. I'm sure your Vr-4 DESTROYER would have had no trouble whats-so-ever with him though, hehe:frog:

it all depends on the model of eclipse. Of course an rs is gonna lose to almost everything, but a gsx has a lot more capability i wouldnt go so far as to say all eclipses are slow

Someone in a civic calling an eclipse slow.

It reminds me of a pot, kettle and the color black.
