Anyone have any info for me?
I have a 2000 Civic Ex, which I plan to do an engine swap with a B18C5 in a couple of years. Right now I’m just scraping together money for suspension. Until then I want to pull some fun out of the stock. I was looking in to a dry Nitrous system but I couldn’t decide on a company: Nos, Venom, or Zex. I have a couple of questions, if I go with the dry system do I still have to change or reprogram my ECU? And do I have to upgrade my fuel to 92 octane if I go with the dry? Also, I read that the Zex system is fully computerized where Nitrous is injected only when the throttle is fully open. All you control is when you open the bottle. Is this system better than the systems where you manually control the injections? advice is appreciated..... |

Re: Help with Nitrous
I had the same questions for my self when I thought about nitrous. I ended up with a NX wet kit but the ZEX wet kit was my second choice. With any nitrous kit, the main concern is fuel delivery once the nitrous is activated. The dry kits have been proven reliable, but you must make sure that your injectors are in good operating condition as increased fuel pressure feeds the nitrous once activated. I did not want to worry about my injectors failing so I decided to go with the wet kit because fuel and nitrous are sprayed into the intake at the same time so the whole system relies on the fuel solenoid not the stock injectors. Zex and NX are both good kits. I say ZEX is the easiest to install and more practical. NX has more wiring but has more performance options if you decide you want more out of the system, like upgrading to direct port or multi-stage. I currently use the NX wet kit with 50 shot on my D16a CRX. It's on the low 14's and it beats any turbo car on the street. NO Bull S..t. Always use 91+ octane and the ZEX plugs work great, even on daily driving. To get the most out of any system, have a bottle heater and gauge. Pressure is everything with nitrous.
