what is it? and why is it automatically on all the time unless I depress the shitch?

Its your Enhanced Traction Control , if your getting wheel spin it cuts the gas out thus cutting power to the wheels so you can maintain controll , you cant spinn the wheels easily with it on. If your stuck in deep snow you cant move so if you push the button it will allow the wheels to spin and get you un stuck.
