Re: Safety of Turbochargers/Superchargers
so long as the engine is proporly built to run em, they are absolutly safe, however, throw a 18-71 blower on your grandmas tired old 200,000 mile stock mid 70s caprice classic. and you might have some negative side effects. kinda like those civics you see that have big turbos, and are also doubbling as mesquito trucks, alla thick blue smoke from the tailpipe, they went out and bought a bad ass turbo setup, and either fom being lazy, cheap, or not knowing better, failed to upgrade at the very least their piston rings. and now have bad blowby. but ive seen bulletproof supercharger setups on LT1 and LS1 engines putting out a mild 5-7 psi boost on a otherwise stock engine. not really up to speed on turbos, but from what ive seen, so long as you dont go nuts, they are perfectly safe too.

Re: Safety of Turbochargers/Superchargers
Done right they will cause less stress on the engine than if you increase the power the same amount while staying NA.
