Ripped CV Boot
Can anyone can give me info on replacing a ripped Outer CV Boot - I would really appreciate it. Any diagrams or places on the net I can get pics and or a process of how to do it, what tools I need, etc. would be super.
Thanks, NicB. |

Re: Ripped CV Boot
You will need
Breaker bar 30mm socket 14mm socket 17mm socket 10 mm socket Pry bar Cv boot pliers snap ring pliers dikes 1- remove the cotter pin and the nut at the end of the axle 2-remove the 14 nut from the sway bar link where it attaches to the strut. 3- remove 10mm bolt that holds the abs wire on the inner fender( this will allow you to move the strut out without breaking the wire. 4- remove the 2 17mm nuts and 1 bolt underneath the lower control arm. 5-Pry on the end of the lower control arm ans separate the control arm from the strut. 6- pry the inside of the cv axle out of the transaxle 7- remove the rings that hold in the inner boot first 8- once you get the inner boot off you will see a snap ring on top of the y shaped thing remove it. 9- remove the y shaped thing by tapping ouwards with a small hammer. 10- remove the outer boot 11-Install new boots in reverse order Good Luck |
