Alternator issue / please help.
The alternator seized up so I replaced it. I also replaced the battery since it was old. Unfortunately, after driving around for awhile, the battery light is comming back on. The belt is still there and turning. There is no unusual noise to indicate that the belt is slipping. What should I check next? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Do you have a system or anything in your car that could drain a lot of battery power

No...There is no radio or any other electrical addition that would drain the power and there was no power drain before the Alternator seized. Someone mentioned a voltage regulator issue. (pardon my ignorance with engines) Could this be the obstacle between the new alternator and the recharging of the battery?

or you ECU is not seeing the charge. Check the green 4 pin connector that clips into the back of the alt. sometimes they don't snap in all the way. Check your voltage with a meter while the car is running, it should be 14v-14.6v. |
