94 Ranger 3L running cold????

My 94 Ranger seems to run very cold - needle is on about 1/4 way along the gauge just below the "N" for normal.
Is this to cold ? It seems to run Ok but sometimes idles about 1000 - 1100 RPM.
Is this normal?
Also what size tire can you go to on the standard 14" mags ?

Re: 94 Ranger 3L running cold????

well, running cool is better than hot,it could have a lowwer temp thermostat than called for. idling at 1000 is normal. you need to check with a tire shop to see what size they will mount on your rim.there are regulations on what size tire you can put on any vehicle.
