Re: mustang SALEEN?

I'll post what I know...which is very little unfortually. As far as I know there were two different Saleens offered with the current Mustang body(I have no idea if there were any 04s pumped out). There was the S281. If I'm correct it had a 425hp 281 ci(4.6L)2V SOHC V8 engine. Then there was the S531. It had a 495hp 351 ci(5.8L)Saleen centrifugal supercharged OHV 90 degree V8.

Sorry that's all I know.

Re: mustang SALEEN?

Saleen started out modifying Mustangs in 84, by buying LX model 5.0's and adding subtle body and suspension enhancements. As the popularity of Steve Saleen's car grew he began on substantial suspension and motor alterations. today Saleen is one of the biggest after-market, Ford sponsored customizer. Check out www.Saleen.com for more info.

1984 Saleen

1988 Saleen

1998 S281 Saleen

1999 S351 Saleen

Re: mustang SALEEN?

The best is to get a mustang GT and put a saleen body kit and rims on it, because real Saleen's are way overpriced.

Re: mustang SALEEN?

Don't do that. If you're going to get rims & a bodykit at least make it unique to your car. Don't copy Saleen.

Theres also an S281E which is supercharged. I'd still kill for an S351.
