Brakes
Does anyone know, how many of the six items below MUST be replaced on both right and left wheels at once?
Drums, brake shoes, wheel cylinders Discs, brake pads, calipers Next question. 1990 3.1 Eurosport. The rear rotors LOOK welded to the hub! Even a former (certified) brake mechanic agreed when he saw it! I have applied a prybar with enough force to visibly bend the rotors on both rear wheels - won't budge, even with penetrating spray. The same prybar worked fine on the front rotors. Advice, anyone? |

Well, it looks like I got one of the rotors off. Boy do I feel stupid. As for my first question, I will assume that it is safe to only repair one brake (one wheel) at a time, unless someone tells me different.

Re: Brakes
How did you get the rotor off? I had the same problem last fall. Finally a friend showed up, gave the rotor a good swat with a decent sized ball peen. Right between the wheel studs to be exact. The stupid thing popped off like it had just been sitting there the whole time.
