progressing + completed car parts

AMT eclipse hood with shaved hood pins. I painted CF effect using tamiya mesh.

Brakes. the rotors are from Bburago diecast cars. I had to make calipers for it. Doesnt look anything as good as SAS i guess...I just found a way to use these parts otherwise be trashed.

AMT supra bumper. I converted from bomex to a veilside-ish kind of bumper. My second time using epoxy.

Also replacing the original GT wing with another one. needed to make the legs for the wing too for it to fit.

Cool. I wanna see more of that supra buddy. The eclipse hood looks fantastic, can we see some more brighter pics of it?

Nice job with the putty, I like the hood on your eclipse and the wing on the supra.

Re: progressing + completed car parts

thank you.
I just painted the supra body black and completed the interior. The suspension is so hard to fit therefore i didnt put all the parts on. The finished car will be tied onto a display base anyways. It will finish by the end of this week. More pics coming soon!
When I polished the eclipse hood i will take some brighter pics maybe outdoors?

Re: progressing + completed car parts

youngdrifter x: hehe... I love seeing carbon fiber body parts on cars...especially hoods/lip for Honda and other FF cars(helps weight distribution too!)... Im planning to try doing a full carbon fiber body Honda Beat. I could start it any minute I want...I've got the kit.
And this is the technique. The top of civic hood is the decal from box.
http://www.tamiya.com/english/howto/car1/tip1.htm
It tends to get the mesh dirty very quickly...soon Ill stock up on tamiya rally cars then it will be all good.

tpliquid: thanks. Newspaper is from Calgary AB Canada, is that where you live too?
