Question Late model Jeep rims on older Cherokee?

Naive tire/wheel question...

I have a 1989 Cherokee Laredo that currently has P225/75R15 Wildcats on factory original 10 spoke rims.

Now, here is the question... and first of all I know a different tire/wheel size changes the speedometer. A friend is willing to give me the tires and rims off of his 2003 Grand Cherokee Laredo if I can use them. The size, from what I can assess from online sources, is:

16x7.0" wheels
Backspacing of 6.0"
Offset is 50.8mm
and bolt pattern is 5x5 (5x127mm)

Tires are 245/70R16 I believe

I would just try to fit them but they are not close by and before I pay shipping I would like to know if I could somehow get the buggers to fit.

Like I said. naive question... any help appreciated!
Thanks

Re: Late model Jeep rims on older Cherokee?

i think with a 3 inch lift kit they would work just fine if your jeep isn't lifted the most tire u can fit under it is only a 235-75-15 i'm adding 15X8 cause i want 31X10.5X15 tires under the jeep and u can only do this by lifting the jeep up 3 or more inches
