In A Pickle, need adivce

lol, its not personal advice, alright, heres my story, i can get a deal on a brand new "mugen" copy 6pc kit for 300 bucks, now the only draw back is that this kit is fiberglass, i wanted urethane, but for 300 bucks this is a deal. Should i get it or just save for the urethane?.......mabye buy this kit then sell it? idk,...lol anyone?

PS, if Anyone has ANY PICS OF a hatch with this mugen fiberglass kit on it please post em, thanks

Re: In A Pickle, need adivce

I caught a good deal like that on a WW fiberglass kit. I decided not to put it on my car after I saw that a bodyshop was going to be needed. I sold it to my BF and he is going to be getting it put on his hatch.

So if I were you I would grab it now. Only reason I didn't do it was because I quit my second job at the time I was about to get it put on, get body work and paint done. I ran out of money.

i would go ahead and buy it, cause there is only i think one urethane body kit for our cars and that is the WW RS kit( It is a god looking kit, but it is deffinitely played out) so i would go ahead and grab that mugen for 300

if you have the $300 to spare then i would have to say pick it up. whats the worst that happenes? you get it and decide it's not what you want after all....then sell it.

The WW kit is identical to the Mugen kit. As a matter of fact, the WW kit was designed as an affordable Mugen look-a-like. The only differences are that the Mugen kit is fiberglass, and the Mugen has the cool badge (not to mention it costs about twice as much).

The Mugen "copy" he's talking about is probably the Erebuni kit - which is crap. Personally, I wouldn't buy it...unless you plan on reselling it to get more $$$ for the WW kit.

Re: In A Pickle, need adivce

IMO, I like fiberglass more - easier to repair if you fuck it up - polyurethane is not easily repairable - so if you scratch it or anything like that you're screwed, where as fiberglass, it may be a bit weaker, but it's cheaper to fix.

ROTFL, with poly there is no need to fix. i have had 3 people back their cars up into mine in parking lots, bumped 2 curbs, and scrape in/out driveways. no harm to any of the WW kit.

what are you talking about scratching a poly bumper it'll scuff about as easy as a fender. then again, you can't really scratch fiberglass either...instead you get big ol' holes

i have yet to get a rock chip in the poly. here is a pics of the fiberglass lip on our teg with 500 million rock chips...where the rocks actually took out chunks of paint & fiberglass. notice, the bumper it's self has zero rock chips, just a bunch of dirt

looks like an art-deco project

W3rd.

Or you could hit a racoon at 60mph in sub-freezing weather (like I did) & watch your fiberglass bumper shatter into a million pieces. Though, if you had the urethane WW bumper (like I do) you wouldn't have to worry about a thing.

After hitting that racoon I pulled over & checked for any damage. There wasn't a scratch. When I hit the racoon the bumper flexed (which cracked the paint), but that's it. If it hadn't been so cold the paint probably wouldn't have even cracked...

IMO the WW kit (or any other urethane kit for that matter) is worth every penny...
