Completed: Revell 1997 Porsche GT1 Evo---Lots of Pics!!

Revell 1997 Porsche GT1 Evo
it is done! finally! i had a few body fitment issues, but i just trimmed a few things and it fit great. The car was a funn build! my first actuall race car. it was a great kit.

My next build is a Ol' Dude inspired rat rod. i have started it from a bunch of junk parts it is still int he works. the body has quite a bit of sanding and the front end needs work(pics soon)

Feedback is welcome!!

Man that looks cool, I have got the Tamiya kit, but have not started it yet. Now that I have inspired you to build a rat-rod, you in return have inspired me to build the Tamiya kit. Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey man nothing is like what anyone else builds, thats why they are your models, thank you for the complement. Hey rods in those days were built from the best junkyards you could find. The more rat, the better. You just keep building!!

thanks....it was a funn kit. the only real problem was the front lip is part of the chassis and it had to be bent up, and the back hatch had 2 clips to connect to the body but i cut them off becuase they wouldnt work and kept coming off...other then a few small things it was great. but most kits have those small fixxes you come across

You did a nice build on a bad kit. The rear deck on that kit is totally out of shape. Looking at the rear quarter view shows how bad the wheel openings are shaped, you can see the tire sticking out, not at all like the real car. It's a shame, the rest of the kit is pretty nice. That rear deck has kept me from even bothering to build the one I have. The UT Models kit has a much better and sturdier body. The Revell kits are warped some too.

I agree on that the back tires stick out but the rest was great! i only had about 3 minor issues, but hey all kits have a minor issue or 2.

thanks MIke, as i can see myself my 1.24th skills are way better. I have made 1/24th for along time! i liek them better then modifiers!

Ol'dude www.supermod04.netfirms.com/completed/rat.html here is my rat rod! it sucks But hey it was crap to begin with! and spending 3 days on it!

I agree with 935. A good job on a not-so-good model. Every one I've ever gotten a hold of had a warped chassis pan.

Sigh...having said that I need to find another one to replace the one that just died....

935k3, you not going to build yours? PM and let's talk ;-)>
