Planning on a new car around winter -- what to get.
Well, Im planning on having around 10-20k down for the vehicle, and would prefer between 25-30k new.
I'm a HUGE fan of the Evo 8, and am a regular on the evolutionm forums, but, I know of the maintenance woes ( ie, good driving still = a new clutch every 20k ) plus am uncomfortable with buying a Mitsubishi after owning a 3000 GT and having the horrible service and support locally. Plus, the Evo 8 MSRP went up quite a bit...soo, I have pretty much ruled that out even though It's a great vehicle. I'm being more and more drawn to the 2005 Mustang GT's, and after vowing never to own a Mustang besides the 65 Fastback I have in the garage to work on every once in a while, ( pretty much a shell, doubt I'll ever get it done... ) they seem rather nice. Sure the handling might not be great with a solid rear end, but it does have that appeal that I do love from the 65-70 Mustangs. Get myself a GT 5 speed and drop a Eaton or a Vortech in there and have some fun =) But, I digress. What else is there? Am I missing anything? A WRX is a notable choice, but with the high, high parts cost plus insurance especially for the WRX being abnormally high...well. And yes, I'd really want a new vehicle. Thing will need to last me 5-10 years. So, |

Acura TL... the new one with 270 hp can blow doors off...and it'll last u a good 15 years.
WRX if yur into rally and also consider the Lexus IS300. Those are all awesome sportcross cars. (not tl) but yeah try G35 coupe  you will never drive another car again

Re: Planning on a new car around winter -- what to get.
Driven a G35 coupe, they are pretty nice but are a bit over my budget. As is the Acura unfortunately, and neither has a dealership within 300 miles of here. So..Im rather limited as far as that goes. Well, so is the Lexus! Hmm...
A lot of options, unfortunately, alot that I cannot affoard nor are within a reasonable service area. |

Go look at a Jag X-Type 3.0 AWD with a 5 speed. Jag has dropped the sticker price big time, and, has low rate financing available now. Car is quite quick, handles great, and built like a tank.
