timing belt just replaced on 93 civic LX HELP PLEASE
i just had my timing belt and water pump replaced on my 93 civic LX at 90,000 kms (about 60,000 mi)... ever since i had it replaced, i've noticed that when i give it gas when its high in a gear, it roars pretty loud...
is this due to it being a new timing belt? or did my mechanic fuck up? any help appreciated!!! |

How is the car running? Is it idling properly and have power?. What type of roar is it? Is it coming from the engine compartment, or is it a roar from the exhaust? If it is coming from the engine, I would say it maybe coming from the timing belt, and or tensioner (if the noise wasn't there before.) Did he just change the belt or did he use a timing kit which would include the timing belt(s), tensioner(s), and/or tensioner pulley(s)?

it seems that it is idling a little high cause everytime i put it into reverse, it grinds a little... but thats always been the case... it sounds like its a roar from the engine i thought it might have been the exhaust but my boy told me it wasn't...
power is good... seems to be a little more pull... its a kind of roar that when i really put my foot down, it sounds like a mustang or something haha... but no loss of power for sure... about the job, i think it was just the timing belt replaced... i check the invoice and it just said the parts were timing belt and water pump... thanks for your help... maybe this info will help you a little more.. wyld |

Chances are your timing belt is too tight and what you hear is the tensioner......check it fast......
