widebody celica (tamiya)

Well this is one of the 'redo' kits I got from Jdmhotrod that was already painted. So i decided to have a little fun. I sanded and used styrene to widen the body and make a front lip. First attempt at a kit. And after doing some reasearch I realized this looks like a VERY poor rendition of hiroboy's thusfar. I apologize for my crappy attempt at plagerism but this will definetly be my creation.

now for suggestions...colors scheme?

I want to paint the car 2 colors and the interior another with the rims staying chrome.

Nice! Maybe some two tone paint scheme would be nice!
Maybe orange for top and silver for lower body!

here's some progress...sorry so slow. I have to say that I'm pleased with the difference in using Mr. Mark Softer for the decals (from Revell ITR) from whence I used just soapy water, but it's still not as mirror smooth as I'd like. It conformed to the surface nicely, but the decal itself still seams to have some intrinsic 'ruffness'. Oh well. Like always, I chucked the original color/rim scheme. I'm opting for some custom-deep dish xs tuning rims in black and a wing I have left over from my c5-r

this is looking sweet, i think the decals kinda take away from the quality of you body kit, but still look sweet

Re: widebody celica (tamiya)

i likes it. if you wax over the decals the "roughness" goes away. just make sure they have really "set up".
