what engine?
As I drove my car with 302k miles this weekend I notice the oil gauge light blink on for a second. So I pull into walmart and took a look at the oil dipstick. It was dry to the bone. I quickly add 3 quart of synthetic blend to the engine. I felt good because it was the first time I ever add oil to my car "wow".
Now I want to do the next thing which is change the filter and transmission oil. The problem I have is that I don't know what engine I have. I know it's got to be D15 since its a 94 honda civic DX. Is there's any way you can tell by looking at engine to see what kind of engine you have? What could cause me to lose oil since there's no leak I notice from engine, could the oil just evaporate? |

but an engine can't eat oil. If it did then it will break the first law of thermodynamic. |

Re: what engine?
i dont know how to explain it but they term it as eating oil. i dont have broad knowledge on engines. you can probably wait for someone who is more knowledgable on the topic than i am.

Re: Re: Re: what engine?
no turbo, it would better to start with a lower mileage engine.
*Almost* every Honda takes the same oil filter. With 300K miles, the oil is getting burnt if not leaking. |

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: what engine?
Thank guys (or girls?)
"burning oil" Now it really make since I notice burn oil crust on the dipstick. That means turbo charge is out of the equation. I will have my set eye on b16 swap then in 2004. happy holidays |
