The drain plug is frozen or just is being a pain in the butt. I am thinking of switching to a socket setup for better leverage. But first I need to be sure I am turning the right way. When looking at the oil pan from your back you turn counterclockwise(towards the driver side) to loosen and to the passenger side to tighten. I might be turning the wrong way I am known for messing the stupid stuff up.

I now know I am turning the right way it is still not budging. Pentrating oil okay to use considering the oil is getting dumped. How much force is needed to get strip the oil pan.

CounterClockwise as you're looking at it will loosen it. Try putting a piece of pipe on the handle of the socket wrench. You don't need penetrating oil. There's plenty of oil there. Then, once it's removed, make sure the gasket is still on the plug. If it's missing, it can make for a hard remove of the plug.

Okay thanks alot. If the gasket is gone wouldn't there be a small leak of some sort? Will the drain plug need immediate replacement? I have a feeling the gasket is gone.

I got er done. This time I borrowed a friend's jackstands so I was able to yank harder. I actually wasn't puttin too much force behind my attempts because it would have sent the jack flying. Also there was this rubber/plastic gasket that came off with some sticky stuff off the oil pan. I just put it on and tightened the drain plug a little more. Hopefully it won't leak. I needed to soak the drain plug down in the sump sink. It was completely covered with gook. My parents do have a very good mechanic that took care of it. His father was rather old and didn't pay attention sometimes and used dirt rags. The last time I did it I was in a mad dash and didn't have time to pay attention to these kinds of details.
