House hold scraps MB Mercer

This is one I did several months ago. I'd had this since I was a kid. It had gone through several paint jobs through the years. No I've never been able to leave anything alone. I decided to make it look right this time and paint it yellow. Thats the way all of them I've ever seen have been painted. The car was stripped using Kleen Strip. The paint was baked on at 400F for 3 mins. The Monicle windscreen was made from blister and rimmed with gold paint, notched at the bottom and glued to the steering column with Krazy Glue. The guages were made from brass windings from a "G" guitar string and the secondary lamps from the guitar string eyes. These were Krazy Glued as well. Striping was made by painting clear shipping tape black and cutting it into thin strips then applied. The horn was made from a brass nail curled around on itself and wound "D" string made the tubing to the horn. The bulb is just black paint built up on the end. What I assume is a fire extinguisher is wire insulation. The seats had long been lost so those were fabricated from blister and covered with leather. Anyone got a spare Mercer seat I'd still like to replace that. The floor boarding, dash, and running boards were covered in wood grained shelf paper. The bonnet belt is a strip of tan shipping tape.[IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG]

Thanks. It looks really good in hand. Hopefully, soon I'll be able to get a really good DC and make some decent photos. Kodak really screwed me to the wall by discontinuing most of their slower speed films. I can no longer reproduce my own art work to make prints. I guess this is what's ment by "throwing the baby out with the bath water."
