Cool I finally did it!!!!

I just got done installing on my 98 gst, the evo316g, with 580cc injectors. Im finally gonna run with the big dogs, but listen to this story of how all this happened, its really kind cool. I ordered all of my stuff about 2weeks ago(16g, injectors, RRE install Kit), i was so excited to finally upgrade from the t25. so about 3 days ago, im driving down the road and my t25 gets really loud, i thought it was kinda cool soundn so i got on it a little, well it turned out that that sound was my turbo blowing up. I drive around a little and reallize i have no boost, so i get home and check on the compressor wheel, its seized to the side of the housing, wont move an inch. i figured that i could drive on it for just a little untill i install my new turbo that i got in a couple of days. BIG MISTAKE, oil was burning out of my exhaust so thick i couldnt see 100 yards behind me. I figured it was just a little oil leak that was burning. So while im installing the new turbo i go to put on my new RRE Lower IC piping, so i take the greddy pipe off and about 2 quarts of oil comes spilling out of my pipes and the IC. I couldnt beleive it. But the overall install went pretty good, except for when my fuel rail snapped in half and i had to replace it with a 1G fuel rail. One of my injectors was leakn a little out of the head side but i think i fixed it by tightning the rail down more.

Well i just wanted to let you guys know how everything went, now the car runs like a champ, but it definetally needs o be dyno tuned.

you should be able to tune it with those controllers without having to be on a dyno... just find a highway somewhere that isnt traveled a lot and start making some pulls... thats all i do to tune in my car and it works fine, but i also went out and bought G-Tech Pro!

Re: I finally did it!!!!

glad to hear you like it man!! I just bought the same setup for my gs-t! I'll let you know how it works out next week. I got the 650cc injectors though.. and a 190 pump. but I"m also using the afc2 and greddy profec b. any tuning tips you come across let me know! I don't know anywhere around here with a dyno either and honestly know VERY little about tuning turbo's. so if you have any tips.. let me know! also... are you planning to upgrade to a fmic? or do you already have one?

i'd put money on him not using the little black spacers that go under the rail then tightening it down and crack! lol i've seen it done!

Re: I finally did it!!!!

yeah, the middle spacer on the rail fell out and we didnt know it and it cracked when i tightened it down. I have the greddy 24r intercooler, does a great job, also i realized that i only hit boost creep when i set the boost controller to under 19 psi, when its set over i get to a boost level and stick there.
