Thumbs down Timing Belt 323i

REPLACE TIMING BELT 1984 323I PUT IT TOGETHER BUT WON'T START. IT BACK FIRES. CHECK COMPRESSION. COMPRESSION ON 3 CYLINDRES.ANY SUGGESTIONS?

Most likely when U took off the timing belt the timing gears have rotated (possibly only one).

possible. is there a workshop manual for euro? i beleive there is but i can't find it.

Re: Timing Belt 323i

Make sure you have the cam and crank timed perfectly with the marks and the distributor as close as possible. The distributor is easy to adjust the few degrees necessary to get it to run. Did the belt break or is this just the preventive maintenance change?
