Ever wondered where/how that false intel was produced?
It utilized a method known as "stove-piping", where you short circuit all the checks and balances in the system for vetting intel. The name of the department in the Pentagon that carried this out was "The Office of Special Plans". This department served as the link between intel and administration in the run-up to the Iraq invasion. Having achieved it's purpose, it has now been dissolved.
