civic 89 and sedan 90 gages ?

I just got home from the local junkyard and i got some part and then they gave me a sedan 90 gage for free and i was wondering if i could fit it on my 89 hb. I know that the cover wount fit but will the electrics work? The sedane has all the same things exept it has a engine light that my hb dosent have.

it will work with some re-wiring. the way the guage cluster would work with rewiring is if it was an 88-89 cluster out of any model 88-89 civic/crx. you either need to figure out how to rewire it or find someone that needs a 90-91 and has an 88-89 one to trade.

cut the plugs from the car that you got it from. leave about 2in. of wire. Cut you stock one and match up the colors.

Basically the wires are the same color, but different plugs. You will also have a blue plug that the 89 cluster doesnt have~pretty sure. Just leave it hang, its for a speed sensor or soemthing thats not necessary

dude..just get the right gauge...look for an 89 sedan or something..that re-wiring is a pain for a cluster that doesn't even fit.

silly. the 88-89 tach cluster is plug and play and costs almost nothing. you can put a 90-91 gauge hood on it now if you want, it will fit.
