brake pad sensor light

have a 2000 323i jet black 49500k miles
had the back brake pads and rotors changed 3 months ago
when the light turns on does it mean i have to also replace the brake pad sensor automatically?
or just the pads and rotors?

thanks any inputs

Re: brake pad sensor light

You should not need to change the rotors each time you change the brake pads. You should inspect them for warpage and wear. Turn them if necessary. If you replace your pads in a timely manner, the rotors should be just fine.
Unless damaged, you should not need to replace the brake pad travel sensor.

yes all is true also if your rotors miniumum wear has been reached replacement is necessary. As for your brake pad sensor i would replace it if the light has come on your dash otherwise it should be ok there only around 15 dollars not that expensive its a contact switch
