1992 Lincoln Air Ride

I have a 1992 Lincoln Continential with 128,000 miles. The rear air ride suspension just gave out.

Does the car need whole new suspension, front & rear?

Is this more than a Do-It-Yourselfer can do?

Someone told me you can replace the Lincoln suspension parts with new parts from a Taurus for much less (just lose the better ride). Is this true?

Also the oil pressure gauge reads low sometimes. I think it is the sensor.

Thanks for any info available. I just finished replacing the head gaskets on the 3.8. Now a thousand miles later this goes out.

air suspension

I just replaced one of my rear air struts. You can get a lot of info on how to change the unit at your local library. Not an easy job. But if you can replace your own brakes this is not much harder.

I baught my replacement from Arnott Inc. online: arnottinc.com

Good luck

Re: 1992 Lincoln Air Ride

I have a 1991, I had the same problem with the air bags, I get my parts for www.uneedapart.com
And that beeping with the oil pressure, I couldn't stand it, I just unhooked the speaker, you might check your oil sending unit, it's real cheap.
