ABS/DSC/Brake warning light on

Recently the above warning lights are coming on. The ABS sensor and relay appear to be operational.
I have a 00 740il (E38), does anyone have insight into this problem?

Also, where can I find a ABS control module?

Thanks, T

Re: ABS/DSC/Brake warning light on

You might try the E38 board of www.roadfly.com for more info but I wouldn't drive very long with warning lights lit concerning the BRAKES.

Re: ABS/DSC/Brake warning light on

I have the same problem with my '00 740il. I just pulled it back from the dealer today. The problem with my car is the DSC controller(traction control). The dealer wants $2200 to fix the problem. My car is 6500 miles out of warranty. I have another mechanic that tells me this my be a dealer only item. The error code that my car sends is #33. Your problem my be an ABS controller. Similar error codes but $700 to fix. The problem, I have been told, does not effect the brakes. The brakes still work. You will not have ABS or traction control, drive carefully.

Well the problem was the Abs Control Module. The dealar wanted $1700 for the part. I declined and bought a brand new Bosch module on ebay for $200. I had BMW dealer install it and reset it. All is fixed for about $400 total vs. the $2200 estimate from the dealer.
