Re: Teg head on Civic block
You can't stick an Integra head on a D-series block. And I don't know why you would want to replace a B16 head with a B18C head. The B16 head flows much better than the B18C head.

Re: Teg head on Civic block
thats the plan for me and i KNOW it works. im going to put an integra type r head on a stock civic b18c bottom end. that engine itself will put out close to or around 300 hp.

Re: Teg head on Civic block
ive seen my plan work. check out the new issue of hot tuning and imports. this guy with a 90's (one of them...haha) civic hatch. put a fully ported and polished integra type r head on a b18c bottom. a b18 could fit into any civic with a bit of work.

Re: Teg head on Civic block
Okay, we all on this board know that B18's fit into civics, and with relatively no work at all. You said you are going to stick an ITR head on a STOCK CIVIC B18C bottom. FYI, no Civic ever came from the factory with a B18C motor.

Re: Re: Re: Teg head on Civic block
Let me explain some things to you noob. A B18C1 is an Integra (not Civic) GS-R engine. A B18C5 is an Integra (not Civic) Type R engine. A Type R head on a GS-R block is a waste of money. You'll go from 170hp to about 185hp, for probably $1000 in labor and $1000 for the Type R head alone. Oh, and you'll need an ECU also ($200-$400). Oh yeah and high compression pistons to take advantage of the higher-flowing head ($900). You really think a stock, all-Honda motor application will push 300hp? That's how much a Subaru STi makes and it's boosted..

![]() That's for a fully ported B16 head vs. fully ported GSR head. The results of comparing stock heads show the same discrepancies. ITR heads stock flow a bit better than B16's or GSR's because theyre lightly sanded from the factory, but when ported to the max all the vtec heads flow very similarly. |

Re: Teg head on Civic block
I've heard the B16B head flows better than all stock B-series engines. You wouldn't happen to have a chart with those numbers would you?
