jerky shifting

My car is 1999 GT. I got jerky shift after I drove up a pretty steep slope
first using D3 and then gear 2. But it was again ok after I parked it for
a while. I have to take to the dealer to have it checked but would like
to get some suggestions before that. BTW, I checked the tranny fluid
and it is above the normal level though the engine was off when I
checked.
