92' Camaro vs 90' Mustang

I just wanna let yall know that i finally beat somebody in a race. Aften getting stomped by 2002 SS, 1994 Z28, and a BMW, i finally won my first race. I came up to a redlight on buford highway (Georgia), and a 92' Camaro RS (305ci) pulled up next to me. He revved his engine and put down his window and told me that mustangs suck, and he was going to "smoke my ass". Well after getting tramatized by the other camaro's i thought he was. So anyday the light turned green and i took off with an "ert" and so did he (but his was five speed). We raced to about 110mph and then i let off, looked back, and he was like 3 car lengths behind me. We pulled up to the next redlight and he told me he had "missed a gear", i said that i didnt care, i beat him, and no we couldnt go again.

P.S.- I prolly would have lost if he hadnt missed a gear, but i beat him fair in square i think. BTW-My car's stock, and he told me his had a chip in it, mines automatic and he's was five speed. Yeah...and mustangs suck

Re: 92' Camaro vs 90' Mustang

The 305s are particularly lame. You might not have had trouble if he had hit the shift...assuming he wasn't making that up.

I know, i raced an LS1, the 2002 SS. It was modded though. It had ALOT of stuff done to it, headers, no cats, mufflers, chip, K&N intake, hurst shifter, and some other things (forgot the rest). Needless to say we went around a quartermile and he had me by like 10-13 car lengths, the Z28 had me by about 7.

Funny thing...

about the whole Mustang vs. Camaro thing.

When I got my '87 5.0, I could beat the Camaro's (stick or auto) cause the 305 basically sucked. The 'stang was 'bang for the buck'.

Then the GM guys decide to go to the 350 (forget which year) and us 5.0 guys started gettin beat down. So what does Ford do? -they counter with a 4.6 (not bad, but a lot of us were hopin' for the 351)

Finally, the Ford guys come up with the 2003 Cobra...but, wait...now that we have a beast to compete with the camaros and firebirds...they're all gone.......go figure.

Oh I knew what you meant, but the way it was written gave me cause for question.
