98'2500 Ram 5.9 fuel issue

OK...So this is my Dads PU and I am not a Dodge buff at all...I have however fixed his tranny awhile back replacing the elec. components that are known to go bad and it fixed THAT issue...

So now I go out to start his PU because the batt. was flat from being parked with the dome light on. Well this is a PU that does not get used so it has been sitting for 3-4 months without being started, and having a flat batt in it.

I charged up the batt. then turned the Ign. on and noticed that the Fuel gauge stays on EMPTY...So I thought...Hmm some lil dipstick stole the fuel...

So...I got Ten Gallons and put it in there...Turned the Ign. key and STILL EMPTY...OK now the flags are going up that I have other issues besides an empty tank. Soooo...I turn the key all the way forward a listen for the Fuel pump to pulse the injectors...NOTHING...

So I check the fuses and relays in the lil control/fuse box...I swapped around the relays in that compartment that were labled engine control and fuel control, and got no change in senario.

OK...SO I know that the truck was running like a champ when it was parked...Then all the sudden it has a bad fuel pump???

ANYONE????

TIA for any help....

Brad

OK...So my Dad bit the bullet and took the PU into a local shop...Here is what seems to be the scenario.

The mechanics scanning equip. is unable to communicate with the Pickups system...This mechanic has been on the phone with MANY Dodge mechs and such and has came up with no answers.

Its my guess that it would be somewhat easy to deduce this down to maybe 2-3 compnents that it could be. Say the ECM or the EEC board?? That is FORD terminology, and its kinda all I know any too well.

So....Any IDEAS on what this might be??? No responses yet....

TIA

Brad
