Technical sub question
My new box is in
2 12" woofers pointed toward the back with 2 4" ports exiting through the rear deck lid. The trunk has dynamat When the trunk is open the subs are hella loud and sound great. The rattling in my car isnt that much. the problem is when i close my trunk. The subs just dont sound as loud. I cant turn them up enough to get it to sound as loud without the whole car rattling. I know i cant do much about the rattling. sooo... What causes the drop in loudness? :what: and what can i do to avoid it? I hope someone who knows what they are talking about sees this :badass: |

well it doesnt rattle because the trunk is open, thats what usually rattles. and about being louder with it open, i never found out how accurate it was... but i posted a site once that talked about direct and indirect sound wave cancellation. with the trunk open, there are no reflecting waves, therefore no overlapping cancellation.
