forget my last post

hey, just forget about my last post. The reason i had asked was cuase i ordered this kit from summit racing with teh HI-6S and it had that inductive style box. I think i am going to return it and order the Mallory HyFire VI-A instead. Only 120 for a fully digital box, offers more output, and more degrees of crankshaft rotation for higher rpms. Plus it has less power draw than the MSD.

Does anyone have any experience with this ignition or any opinions on it?

Also, another things that i am not sure about, do i need the rev limiter. I have a bone-stock car, and I never plan to go forced induction or nitrous, so do i need a rev limiter? It costs about 50 bucks more and i dont' want to get it if i won't need it.

it's just like i said, the rev limiter will protect your motor in case the gas pedal gets stuck down, during burnouts, in case of driveline failure, etc. believe me, you WANT one. all it takes is one overrev and you could be picking up your connecting rods.

if you think about it, a motor will cost you somewhere around 5k for moderate performance, 10k for high performance, approximately. i think that 50 bucks is cheap insurance.

i'd just go with the msd 6al, it costs about $250 as memory serves, and it's just about the best street ignition you can buy. at worst you'd have to buy a new coil (blaster ss, $35) and a distributor (pro billet, approx. 2-300). you can even get an msd dist that'll plug right into a stock ignition, and a coil as well.
