Re: suggestions for springs sitting on 17's?
what series tires are you running? if you're running like a 225/40 or something really thin like that it's going to be hard to completely get rid of the gap without slamming the hell out of the car. Especially if you're running a kit. I wouldn't suggest any more than a 2 inch drop... ever! anything after that just gets rediculous and causes you to bounce and bang all over. the ride seriously sucks. do not let anyone talk you into cutting your springs to save money and get the "same coil rate" I had someone tell me that once.. I promptly smacked them for being stupid. Cut springs ride like pure shit. If you're going to do it, then do it right. If you think you'll ever have to adjust your ride height then go with coilovers. and be sure to change your shocks or the stock ones will blow from being compressed past their normal levels all the time. I would suggest tokico illumina's or HP's with ground control coilovers. I'm running that setup and can vouch for it's ride comfort. You could also go with koni shocks and eibach springs if you aren't worried about adjusting the ride height. If you are planing on lowering the car more than 1 1/4 inches you might wanna look into a camber kit. otherwise you'll chew through tires and it will shake at higher speeds. The brands I mentioned are just a few. H&R springs are also very good. don't go cheap or you'll regret it. Good luck and welcome to the board.
