Exclamation REALLY big problem w/ Accord, what to do?

Hey everyone!

First off, I wanted to thank everyone who has helped me so far.

I took my 99 Accord EX-V6 into the shop, and found out that I need new rotors within the next two months. The total cost of this? 367.00 for new brakes/rotors for the front, and 319.00 for new brakes/rotors in the back... the grand total being somewhere in the neighborhood of 700.00 dollars.

I can't afford this, after just buying the car from a dealership, putting down 1,100.00, paying 220 a month for the loan, plus having to pay 160.00 a month for comprehensive insurance (because the bank owns it until I pay the loan off). I'm also going to school full time at a university and have to pay tuition.

Well the point of all my bitching is that I can't afford it. Is it okay to sell a car after only owning it for a month? I also bought it for around $9500 dollars, should I try to sell it for less than that since it has problems?

GodFuckingDammit this sucks.

Is it a certified pre-owned?

If the rotors were that bad, then they should've been replaced before the car was sold. Go and bitch at the salesman who sold you the car.

Re: REALLY big problem w/ Accord, what to do?

Also, you definantly do not need to pay that much for them. If you do them yourself(fairly easy) and order everything online, you will save hundreds of dollars. Honestly I would not sell the car over such a minor repair. I am assuming that you are getting these price quotes from the dealership. #1 piece of advice: Dealerships are out to screw everyone!
I wouldn't get any work done there unless it's free. Because they are charging you 60-75 dollars an hour for labor. I am sure if you have any one at all knowledgable of cars around you can get them to show you how to change your brakes. It really is an easy job that will only take you 2 hours or so to do all 4 rotors and brake pads. If you shop around online(tirerack.com, or use yahoo and do a search) until you find good prices and then do it all yourself, it should only cost you a few hundred bucks.
But yeah, as first stated, go back and bitch to the salesman first, if its certified or under any kind of warranty they should do the work for you. They will give you some bs about brakes being a thing that wears down gradually and they are not responsible for it. But just keep bitching them out, tell them that you aren't pleased with their inspections(if it should be repaired, they should have done it before selling you the car) ask for names and numbers of any regional managers and tell them that you will call the better business bureau if you really want to threaten them.

It's a sucky situation to be in, my girlfriend just bought a used pontiac and it needed brake work almost immediately as well, I fixed it all and now am fighting with them to get the money back for the pads I bought. So I know how annoying it is, but definantly don't sell your car over something that can really be done for alot cheaper.
