changing Daytime Running Lamps
I just changed the left DRL on my 2000 z71, but it was a pain. Getting to the 3157 bulb-housing was easy, but removing the bulb was really difficult. Is there a tool for this? seems like there should be since there are 4 flanges holding it in, 2 on each side of the base of the bulb. What's the best way to hold open the flanges to remove the bulb (besides breaking the glass and using 4 screwdrivers!)?? anybody been there before?

The first time I did it, I was confused. But all you have to do is have a firm grasp on the base of the bulb and pull. You have to put some strength into it, but thats it.

Re: changing Daytime Running Lamps
Don't you just turn them ninety degrees and then pull the assembly out of the socket?

The 1157 and 1057 bulbs turn 90deg then pull out - they have round bases. The 3157 is a rectangular base and TexasF355F1 is correct - grab firmly and pull straight out.

Re: changing Daytime Running Lamps
Just pull the relay for them under the hood so they go out. THen you don't have to worry whether or not they're blown.
