Thinking of Buying an Xterra....

Just found this forum and I'm doing my homework. I'm deciding on which vehicle to purchase next. Its a toss up between a Blazer ZR2 or an Xterra. My current 1996 Blazer has 161,000 miles on it with no major repairs or problems and I've been very happy with it.

I'd like to hear from Xterra owners out there. Basically are you happy with your Xterra and would you do it again? I like the looks of it and plan on taking one out for a test drive next week. Are there any features or options that are MUST haves?

Thanks to anyone that cares to respond and help me out.

Thanks much!

Billy

Happy, yes.

I'll probably drive mine into the ground, unless the 2005 update is very compelling.

You must have the 4x4, 3 packages (power, utility, sport). The packages are probably named something different since I bought mine in 1999.

Sunroofs are debatable, but those who have to have one, usually get rid of their roof basket or cut it out so they can see the sky.

You can find things to look out for by cruising the forums. Remember that people generally report problems, not how things are working great. For the most part the Xterra is a very solid, capable 4x4, better than most any out there.

Since you're in a Xterra forum, I think just about everyone is going to give you a positive response.

I'm in the same boat. Looking to purchase an '00-01 4x4 auto. Anything in particular to look for? To steer clear of?

There have been a couple of threads on this subject lately. Cruise the General forum and you should find them. Good luck on the new truck.
