I hate to say it but I have to sell my 83 GTi. It has a 1.8L 16valve DOHC engine out of an 88 jetta, the original close gear ratio tranny, six point custom roll cage, full exhaust Tectonics Tuning adjustable cam gear, H&R Sportline Cup Kit (lowers the car 3 inches), Momo steering wheel and shift knob, 15" rims, the back seat and bumpers have been removed for weight and it weighs about 2000 pounds. I love this car so much and I can't believe I'm selling it but I have 3 cars and it has to go. I'm asking $3000 but that could probably be negotiated if someone were to make an offer. There is some rear end damage from when a previous owner backed into his girlfriends car, it isn't bad but you can see it in one of the pictures I have. There is no stereo in the car, but in the spare tire hole there is a custom box for a 12" sub. The reason I don't have a stereo for it is because it was stolen out of the car shortly after I bought it (I didn't have a key for the back hatch so it was unlocked but that was fixed by a quick trip to the junk yard, second key for the hatch though). The plastic dash piece is broken a little, I glued it back together but you can still see some breaks in it. I am located in Missoula, MT, about 2 hours from Spokane and I would be willing to help with shipping, it is drivable but it is not a highway car. At 65 mph in 5th gear it runs about 4500 RPM so it is drivable on the highway but don't plan on going much faster than 65.... at least you don't have to worry about expensive highway speeding tickets though ;-) I'm sure I'll think of more but if there are any questions don't hesitate to ask.
