Fujimi 1/16 Koenig Countach Enthusiast

I had one of these when i was a kid, actually it was the lm500s that was sold under the testors name. Although its not the best kit out there, i really wanted to redo the one i lost as a kid. I got the koenig version cause i like the body a lot more with the skirts and what not.

Anyone have any pictures of this kit, or any of the 1/16 countach kits completed??

Can someone tell me how hard this will be to build??

I have been reading horor stories about fujimi kits.....the only one i did was a Koenig special 500sl and that didn't give me too much trouble aside from the lack of detail.

Thanx

Fujimi Enthousiast kit are very well made.. good details and fairly easy to do (after all, it's 1/16 !)

only thing is over time, the plastic melt and you can expect to have lot of trouble with the body fitment

I have 1/16 Lambo kit. It's old mold and there is lot's of work to make it nicely. Some instructions are not very clear and because that I stoped work on it. Now I found reference so I will continue to work on it in future.

Fujimi quality is really a remarkably mixed bag- I know of no other manufacturer, with the possible exception of China's Trumpeter, that puts out kits so inconsistently- some excellent, some not! In general the Fujimi enthusiast line is very highly regarded and much sought after. Most of the handfull of 1/16 kits they put out are very good. I have however heard that the 1/16 Countach is not as good as it should be. (Can't say exactly how, I don't have this one- but the 1/16 F40 is terrific!)

Either way, if you're just getting back into modeling and haven't done it for a few years/decades, this is not a kit that I would jump right into. Not that you wouldn't be able to build it- you can. It's just that this is a large, complicated (and expensive!) kit to learn on. Your skills will progress rapidly by building a couple of smaller 1/24 kits, and you're more likely to be happy with the results of your early efforts on a 1/24 kit than on a 1/16.

If this is the one kit you want to build, then go for it. But, if there are others you want to build also, I'd start with something else, and go onto the Countach for a second or third kit.

Well im not "just" getting back into it, in the past few years i have built a 1/24 tamiya WRX, 1/24 tamiya S2000, the Full View CLK-GTR (way nice car), 1/24 fijimi Koenig 500SL (not finished yet), working on Revell 1/12 '69 Z28 (cause i own one, see sig), and a revel "High Tech" F-117.

LOL, didnt' realize it was that many till i listed them. There is a few more too.

I was just saying i have been looking for that particular kit for some time now.

Thanx

HLJ is probably your best bet for finding one.
