8.8" question
does any1 have an estimated guess at the # differences (torq, hp if any, quater-mile time)between a 7.3 and an 8.8, both with say 3.73 gears? is it worth the money for a daily driver with basic mods. no supercharge or nitrous.still with stock heads, cam, etc.

Re: 8.8" question
I think you mean 7.5" rear. The differences will be that the 8.8 has Trac-Lok, and the 7.5 doesn't. Plus the 8.8 will be stronger and hold up to more abuse.

track lock
track lock , posi track (ptrack) , limited slip are all the basic same thing. they use clutches in the diff. that allow both wheels to turn at the same rate of speed. however, through turns they need to be loose enough for both wheels to turn at different rates of speed.
mabye this will help http://www.4x4abc.com/4WD101/limitedslip.html http://www.answerbag.com/q_view.php/1737 |
